If you haven’t heard obama is trying to secretly push thru a proposal where Big Brother can confiscate your computers, hard drives & flash device information without a search warrant!

Imagine all the Information that is contained on your computer – financial, personal correspondence, club & religious memberships, political affiliations, medical info, and more = IOW all your information can be confiscated by Big Brother. IF this comes to pass then the govt can come into your home WITHOUT a warrant and confiscate your computer equipment. This is unreasonable Search & seizure! Since when is going after copyrighted mp3 songs a matter of national security? Simple it is NOT. Obama is doing this under the claim of “national security” so no warrants are needed. IOW our 4th amendment rights are under attack from the obamanation.

search warrant = only what your looking for and nothing else, even if that something else is illegal. then having been in the house they wouldn’t be allowed to get another warrant for the other thing they found because of the way they found it.

@7:01- The scenario he talks about at this point is absurd if you know a thing or two about what the 4th amendment search and seizure allows. For example,a local gas company, Dominion, had cops assist the costumer service guys sometimes, well as it turns out the cops decided to back out of this kind of thing because if they had seen anything illegal while in someone’s house they wouldn’t have been able to do anything about it because they never had a search warrant.

I agree under Bush things like the patriot Act were introduced which gave “Big Brother” the right to listen in without a search warrant.

woah, slow down there buddy at 7:01. just because you have the police in your house and they see something illegal, that in no case means that they can search the rest of your house because a search warrant only applies to what they are looking for and anything else they find isn’t allowed in court as against you. secondly, the rights to search your property and the rights to search your data are differen,t they would probably need a warrant to gain excess to your house for the computer first.
