The Census Is Getting Personal
IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND the difference between the short and long forms watch this video:
“The Census Part 2, Clarifications”
Many people have requested the list below:
QUESTIONS THAT THE CENSUS BUREAU REFUSED OR FAILED TO ANSWER (from Jerry Day’s Matrix News Network segment: “The Census Is Getting Personal”):
1) The Constitution authorizes government to count people but it does not authorize the taking of private Information or even the names of individuals. From where does the Census Bureau derive authority to demand our private information?
2) Is there any limit to the amount and type of private information that the Census bureau may demand and collect?
3) Under what Constitutional authority does the Census Bureau collect information now from 250,000 people per month of every year?
4) The 4th Amendment to the Constitution prohibits government Search and seizure of private information without a court warrant based on probable cause, Current Census policies violate that Amendment do they not?
5) By what Constitutional authority does the Census Bureau threaten penalties for failure to provide personal information?
6) The Census Bureau claims it maintains privacy of personal information, Are there any circumstances under which law enforcement or spy agencies can access Census information?
7) Since presumably Census data may be subpoenaed by law enforcement, may individuals refuse to answer questions according to the fifth Amendment?
Why has the Census Bureau decided to collect GPS coordinates for every home?
9) Virtually every government database has been either lost, hacked or compromised, would the Census Bureau’s claim of data security not be an outright lie or at best highly improbable?
10) How would the Census Bureau locate, protect and compensate those individuals whose data becomes compromised?
There is a great deal of confusion about the Census “short form” and “Long Form” because the Census Bureau has failed to equally publicize the two current approaches. Part of the video refers to the long form called the “American Community Survey” which has 12 pages of questions, many of which are much more probing than the short form. A PDF file of the the long form can be viewed at this link: http://www.jerryday.com/images/ACS-1-Stateside-English_web.pdf

Thank you for proving my point.

@fewrevelations (Second Amendment only provides for arming a state militia.)
Yes and no.. What you don’t understand is what the definition of militia is. It is _every_ able bodied male adult from 17 to 45. So constitutionally, that means the second Amendment applied to every male from 17 to 45, only assuming it is the militia you are talking about.
However, the part of the militia is not the active part of 2A. The active part is, The right to keep and bare arms not be infringed.
@sdmoody (police, …
@sdmoody (police, fire, education, parks, and almost every other service the government provides you)
None of these are Federal government _provided_. They are all state funded operations. It’s the Federal government that is wasteful and is basically using the taxes to bribe under privileged voters to vote for them in the next election. (We need more ‘free’ stuff syndrome. But none of it is free. Others are paying for it big time!)
@sdmoody

@sdmoody
Imagine the money the states would have to fund state projects, such as roads, police, schools and such if there were no income tax? (You know $10 go out to the federal government, it gives back 2$ and spends the rest as it wants?)

@mmackenzie72 ( His claims are false and/or misleading.)
Funny. I just got a census packet that almost mirrors his video exactly, including the monetary penalty scare tactic. However I’ll just answer one question: How many live here.
@tsprague1
There …
@tsprague1
There are 2 and only 2 Constitutional use for the census.
The first is to determine the number of Congressmen each state is to have.
The second is to determine how many people for the purpose of Direct Taxation, that each state has. By the way, there are NO direct taxes being imposed today. All taxes are indirect taxes. Indirect meaning that you place yourself in each of the tax schemes (A-E of title 26) voluntarilly.
Sounds like you …
Sounds like you just want somethin to complain about…it’s the census, not a freakin’ interrogation. You need to chill out, christ.

@mrseddy1952
So you pretend to not have watched the video closely, not have heard of the “American Community Survey”, Not have gone to the Census Bureau web site, not have read the sidebar of the video, not have seen the “Census Part 2, Clarifications” video, but somehow “know” that the form you got is the only form? This gets tiring.

@PastorBrianL
Tell them whatever you want. The question is should they be threatening you into doing it.
@Orangish (Cont) …
@Orangish (Cont) The argument is structured so that no matter what is argued, it can be contextually reworked to serve the argument of a giant conspiracy. The argument is irrefutable, and so, cannot possibly arrive at a rational conclusion because it is fundamentally closed to didscussion.
They ask you this …
They ask you this to speed up the process of inter-government communications transfer.
Everything will be networked in a few years and then the Big, Scary Government won’t have to ask you any questions. They’ll just know.
Maybe they already do and they just want you to think they don’t.
Yes, the gov isn’t exactly the most neighborly organization around, but to assume they are spending this much money just to dupe the little man, is just paranoia
I want …
I want conservatives to examine the circular nature of their own argument.
Your final conclusion arrives at the idea of: If you don’t believe what I’m saying, it’s because you’ve been brainwashed by the government. Which, incidentally, is an argument that can’t be refuted. If a liberal argues with facts? They’re not facts, they’ve been “manipulated” by the government. If someone argues with a different interpretation of constitutional law? It’s not valid because they’ve been “brainwashed.”

Please. I could get this information on anyone in about ten minutes of phone calls on an average business day. You know what I can do with it? Squat.
So, why don’t you tell me one good reason I shouldn’t give it to them?
VERY informative. …
VERY informative. But you seem to be a little too hostile towards the census takers. These people are as average as they get. They take a 28 question test to see if they can read write and think a little, that’s it. These are minimum wage people looking to make $15 bucks an hour, they don’t know jack and are just trying to make a living.
I do agree though with everything else you said.

ever since i seen that movie the strangers I don’t open my door to anybody anyways so they aren’t getting in my house either
@tsprague1 That’s a …
@tsprague1 That’s a thought. I’m more inclined to boycott the census again. I did it 10 years ago and they never bothered me. If anyone wants to question why I didn’t fill out the form for here, the answer is that I don’t have to and she doesn’t need to. They should be helping her.
@toounfazed This …
@toounfazed This is definitely a problem. Try calling your local reps and see if the can help. If they can’t go up to the next step. I’ve gone to my State Rep several times over the last 8 years for help with my disabilities when I could not get help in my town or county
@TAXavier Not sure …
@TAXavier Not sure what comment you are responding to ?
To any so called …
To any so called patriots out there, acting tough and pushing around a government pee-on census takers does not make “special.” Most are probably poor slobs who applied for the job out of desperation after losing their real job. You WILL join them soon. It is enough to refuse and exercise your constitutional rights, any more and your a coward dick who would cower when real action is necessary in the face of this fascist government’s military/police.
@goldgrif I know …
@goldgrif I know quite a few Repubs and Conservatives who are far from cowards, evil or paranoid. They make up about half of my family and friends. Just as my Dem family and friends, they are hard working, intelligent people who care about this country and our government. That we do not agree with HOW some things should be done does not make those we disagree with someone who does not care about our country or want it’s demise. I pity those who feel that we do, though.
@goldgrif A group …
@goldgrif A group of people with similar interests are made up of individuals. These individuals do not all think alike, nor should they. One group is not inherently evil, cowards or paranoid (well, maybe the birthers and truthers, IMO). They are people.
Labeling ANY group of people as evil is called demonizing. It is meant to take away the label of “human” and make others believe that they are less than human. This is not right, or factual. IMO, honest, thinking people do not do this.
