Every Dog Needs Enough Exercise To To Be Healthy

If you are a proud pet owner, you know that your pet especially a dog needs regular exercise to be happy and healthy and give them a chance to take care of their business.

Most people take their dogs for walks, even if just around the block or even let him out in the back yard to run, dig and play until he tires himself.

If you only give your dog the minimum amount of exercise, you could be limiting him and yourself of much needed exercise. On those cold morning when you don’t want to get up but you still need to walk your dog, why not take him for a jog and allow both of you some much needed cardio?

Walking your dog can be great benefits for the both of you. Little may know how effective walking can be for the body, but it actually keeps your body active and healthy.

When you walk your dog, the both of you will gain much needed stamina. The more you walk, the further you both will be able to go each time. This also allows you to see more of the neighborhood in which you live. Your pet will enjoy the time and attention from you and you will feel so much better daily with the much needed fresh air you both will be getting.

You may be able to start going on short runs with your dogs after the both of you get used to the normal walking, but you must check with the breed of your dog to ensure short runs are acceptable.

Dogs who have shorter legs can’t keep up as easily as a dog with longer legs. Bigger dogs would enjoy stretching their legs on a good run. Some ideas are a game of fetch or go on nature hikes together.

Whichever form of exercise you choose to allow your dog, he will be appreciative and so will you once you see the benefits of the exercise.
